District Conference

The 'Team Serendib' met before the presentation and all of us were in our official suit. We met the 3220 Team went to Mumbai and they were overwhelmed by the whole experience. The inbound team from Mumbai were a happy bunch of people. It was their maiden voyage to SL and didn't they say that want to visit more often and tell their friends about SL.

The presentations went well and I wished good luck and safe journey to the Delaware team simply because I was not feeling well to hangout in the evening.

Next few dates will be very decisive and the Team knows it well!

Team meets ahead of the District Conference

We met in my office at 7pm. To start with it was an Eventful Day!. Clarence, Ash, Ajantha and of course my self were there.

We went on till around 9.30pm until the air defence sytem got active in the Colombo city. We had no option but to stay until the lights were lit.

Our presentation will take place at the District conference tomorrow 22nd Feb.

Visa to USA

My self and Ajantha spent entire morning at the US Embassy to obtain our Visa. We were granted 01Yr/multiple.
We need to do a quick presentation on the 22nd at the District Conference. (Mount Lavinia Hotel) 4GSE teams will do their act. (inbound and outbound teams of Mumbai, Delaware/Maryland)

22nd evening is the GSE aluminai fellowship at the Galle face Hotel.

Team will meet tomorrow at 7pm in my office to sum up the presentation.

I've been following the Blogs of Jen and Chris of the visiting GSE team from Delaware/Maryland. I am happy that they have really enjoyed their stay in SL.

Ist Post

55 Days. Time Flies. Thats how can I describe the proceedings so far. The GSE selection Interview was held on 28th Dec. 1600Hrs. I got the news of my selection on 29th Morning. Well I have found an organization 'very professional'. Rotary District 3220.

The 1st meeting was held on the 30th Dec. for the two outbound teams to Mumbai and Delaware/ Maryland.

Clarence is our Team Leader. Ashani (Ash), Ajantha (AJ), Ima and My self (Chamara) are the Team Serendib. (Pleasent Discoveries)

50 Days after the selection! my 1st Post goes online. Sorry about it Folks. The future posts will be very interesting. Keep reading!

We have so far had 3 Team meetings. All at Clarences' Place. 3 GSE Team Leaders and 2 GSE team members shared their experiences.

We've met the inbound GSE Team from Delaware/ Maryland, Courtesy call by the US ambassador, took part in a Rotary Quiz, took some pictures at the Nawam Perehara..........all preparational work for the GSE.

Still I feel I need to do more to make this a Once in a life time experience.
